Monkey Trubble Privacy Policy

Last updated October 24, 2026

Monkey Trubble is a card-matching game by Polymer Jones (Paul Fisher). It has no accounts and no analytics. It offers optional video ads from Google AdMob: an ad plays only when you tap a Watch Ad button to earn a reward. It keeps your progress on your device and in your own iCloud (iPhone) or Google backup (Android). If you take part in the online leaderboard, it stores a nickname you choose and your scores so other players can see the board.

What stays on your device and in your own backup

Your game progress is saved on your phone. On iPhone, if iCloud is on, it's also saved in your iCloud account so it follows you to your other devices. On Android, it's included in your phone's Google backup, so it comes back when you reinstall the game or move to a new phone. This includes:

iCloud data is stored by Apple under your Apple ID and handled under Apple's privacy policy. Android backups are stored by Google under your Google Account and handled under Google's privacy policy. We can't see either.

When you finish a jungle puzzle you can save or share the picture. It's only added to your Photos if you tap Save / Share and choose to save it; the game can't see or read your photos.

The game uses your phone's motion sensor only to move the shine on cards and the background as you tilt the phone. That happens on your device; motion data is never stored or sent anywhere.

The online leaderboard

When you enter a nickname, the game posts to our leaderboard after each level you clear. The leaderboard runs on Supabase, which hosts our database. It stores:

Other players can see your nickname, rank, score, tier, streak and troop level on the leaderboard. Please don't use your real full name as your nickname.

Offensive nicknames are refused. Any player can report a nickname; after several reports it's hidden from everyone until that player picks a new one. You can also hide any player on your own phone.

Like most online services, our hosting provider may keep short-term technical logs (such as IP addresses) to keep the service secure and running. We don't use them to identify or track players.

Game Center

If you're signed in to Game Center, the game sends your leaderboard score and highest level to Apple's Game Center leaderboards, and Game Center shows you there under your Game Center nickname. The game also reads that nickname once to suggest it as your in-game name. It's only saved if you keep it. Game Center is run by Apple under Apple's privacy policy, and you can sign out of it in your iPhone's Settings.

Google Play Games

On Android, if you're signed in to Google Play Games, the game sends your leaderboard score and highest level to the Google Play Games leaderboards, where they appear under your Play Games profile name. The game also reads that name once to suggest it as your in-game name. It's only saved if you keep it. Google Play Games is run by Google under Google's privacy policy, and you can manage or turn it off in the Google Play Games app or your phone's settings.

Ads (Google AdMob)

The game shows rewarded video ads from Google AdMob, on iPhone and Android. They never play on their own: an ad starts only when you tap a Watch Ad button (resume, shuffle, undo or Owl Eyes), and you get the reward when it finishes. If no ad is available, you get the reward free, once per level.

To show and measure ads and to prevent fraud, Google's Mobile Ads SDK collects and shares with Google:

In the EEA, the UK and other places where the law requires it, the game asks for your consent before ads are personalised. You can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of personalised ads, in your phone's settings (on Android: Settings › Google › All services › Ads). Google handles this data under Google's privacy policy; see also how Google uses information from apps that use its services. We never see your advertising ID or link ads to your leaderboard entry.

On iPhone, the game never asks for permission to track you, so Google can't use your iPhone's advertising identifier (IDFA) or follow you across other companies' apps and websites. You can also turn off personalised Apple ads in Settings › Privacy & Security › Apple Advertising.

What we don't do

If anything changes this, we'll update this page first, and the App Store and Google Play listings will say so.

Keeping and deleting your data

Leaderboard entries are kept while the leaderboard runs. To have your entry and any reports deleted, email us with your nickname (and roughly where you are on the board) and we'll remove it. Deleting the app removes the progress saved on your phone. To remove the iCloud copy, go to Settings › [your name] › iCloud › Manage Account Storage. On Android, the backup copy is managed in your phone's Google backup settings.

Children

Monkey Trubble is meant for players 13 and up and isn't designed to collect personal information from children. The only thing a player types is a nickname, and we ask that it not be a real name. If you're a parent and want a child's leaderboard entry removed, email us and we'll delete it.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
